The surface behind the hand has injectable veins and bones and the extra flexibility of the wrist helps students develop manipulation skills. Intramuscular and intradermal injections can be performed in the deltoid muscle and the upper arm. The injections into the deltoid muscle is made more realistic through the soft skin and the bony parts in the region. Intradermal injections will make the realistic skin swell at specific areas on the upper arm through the use of distilled water. The complete venous system includes a wide-ranging 8-line vascular system which allows students to study intravenous injection in primary and secondary positions, including IV catheter practices. This creates a realistic backflow of blood with a real feeling of puncture when input is correctly inserted. To maintain quality and freshness of the simulation arm, the veins and skins are fully replaceable. These injection practices can be performed hundreds of time before the veins and skin needs replacing. There are complete replacement kits available or aerosol sealant to seal puncture, extending the life of the veins.
