Scientz Type 03-II Fixer is a multi-function instrument of UV radiation system and mainly used in fixing DNA on membrane. It can also be used to cut DNA in agarose gel, select RecA mutation, partly digest thymine dimmer by restriction endonucleseas, eliminate the PCR contamination by UV sterilization. Otherwise, it is widely used in the fields such as UV sterilization and disposal of polymer by UV.
CHARACTERISTICS
For fixing nucleotides on the membrane, its only needed several seconds of radiation at 254nm by the UV Fixer. However, the traditional methods need to bake the membrane for 2 hours at 80 by the use of vacuum oven.
UV radiation can improve the hybridization signal by 5-10 times compared to the traditional baking method.
Instrument characteristics:
In order to fix nucleoside acid on hybridization membrane, the traditional method is to put the membrane in 80OC vacuum oven to bake for 2 hours, while this UV radiation instrument only needs 254mm ultraviolet ray irradiation for a few seconds.
