2.Indications: (1)Typhoid and other salmonella infections: as the choice drug of typhoid fever, paratyphoid fever caused by sensitive strain.Should not be used for gastroenteritis caused by salmonella. It can still be used if in a serious condition, combined sepsis. In adult typhoid, paratyphoid salmonella infections to fluoroquinolones for the preferred (for pregnant women and children should not use the drugs).
(2)As a choice drug of ampicillin-resistant Haemophilus influenzae type B meningitis or in patients allergic to penicillin in Streptococcus pneumoniae, Neisseria meningitidis meningitis, sensitive gram-negative bacilli meningitis.
(3)Brain abscess, particularly Otogenic, often mixed infection of aerobic and anaerobic bacteria.
(4)Serious anaerobic infections caused by bacteria, such as vulnerability to infection, especially for lesions involving the central nervous system, and can be combined with the aminoglycoside antibiotic treatment of pelvic infections and intra-abdominal infections, in order to control the existence of aerobic and anaerobic bacteria infection.
