  The necessity of low temperature disinfection sterilization:

  What is glutaraldehyde?

  • It was first composed in 1908. Pepper and his colleagues found its disinfecting function in 1962, and made alkaline glutaraldehyde with concentration of 2% to disinfect in 1963. Chemical formula for glutaraldehyde is C5H8O2 and its molecular weight is 110.13. It is flint or light yellow liquid with boiling point between 187 C and 189C. The liquid is easy to be dissolved in water and alcohol. Its water-solubility is acidity (PH 3-4). Glutaraldehyde has broad-spectrum, high sterilizing efficiency. So it is high-efficient disinfecting agent.
