We call the total concentration of calcium ion (Ca²⁺) and magnesium ion (Mg²⁺) in water sample to be the hardness of water. This instrument adopts electrode method for testing, and its accuracy is the same as EDTA volumetric method as can avoid many shortcomings in EDTA volumetric method, such as complicated operation, uncertain judgment of terminal point and unsuitable use in turbid and colored water sample. Notable features for this instrument read as follows:

• Adopt model 601 water hardness combination electrode which consists of measuring electrode, Ag/AgCl reference electrode and temperature sensor. The PVC sensitive membrane of measuring electrode is made of active matter comes from new neutral carrier, which has equal selectivity for Ca²⁺ and Mg²⁺ ion in water sample. It has features of new structure, stable electrode potential, quick response and use easily.
• The electronic unit adopts intelligent chip design, which has intelligent function of automatic calibration, automatic temperature compensation, data storage and automatically lock measuring value etc.
• Eight water hardness unit can be selected freely: mmol/L, mg/L(CaCO₃), mg/L(CaO), mmol/L (Boiler), mg/L(Ca), °fH, °dH and °eH.
• Equip with B1, B2 and B3 calibrating solution.
• ATYD300 is waterproof design (Waterproof Grade IP67) and equips with a special carrying case.
