- Product Detials:Aviation Style Headphones:To minimize outside noise and enhancecomfort, the E-Scope Electronic Stethoscope utilizes aviation-styleheadphones. The padded seal around the ears and insulation inside theheadphones significantly reduce outside noise allowing the paramedic tohear soft breath and/or heart sounds in an ambulance or other noisyenvironment. The ear pads provide cushioned comfort for long-term use.
Finger-tip Control: All the controls for volume and heart sound or breath sound filters are on the stethoscope chestpiece and as well as on the headphone.
VolumeControl: On the stethoscope chestpiece, the + or symbol is pressedto increase or decrease the sound volume. On the headphone, a toggleswitch increases or decreases the sound volume. The toggle switch iseasily operated with a gloved finger.
Breath and Heart SoundFilter Control: Since breath sounds are in the 50-1600 Hz range andheart sounds are in the 50-700 Hz range, the E-Scope can be adjustedto concentrate on these frequency ranges. The · symbol on thestethoscope chestpiece switches the frequency response between thesetwo ranges. A push button on the headphone is also available for aquick frequency response change.
Automatic Shut Off: To extend the life of the AA battery, the E-Scope shuts off automatically after 1.5 minutes (an optional 8-minute shut off is available.)
AutomaticVolume Restart: When the E-Scope is turned ON, it remembers the lastvolume setting thus keeping new volume adjustments to a minimum
Off-the-ShelfBattery: The E-Scope uses a standard off-the-shelf AA battery thatoperates the E-Scope for about 5 months assuming usage at 30 times perday, 6 days per week. Replacement batteries are available whereverbatteries ae sold.
Selection of diaphragms and bells: TheE-Scope Pediatric model is the same as the E-Scope Clinical modelexcept that it is supplied with a Specialist Pediatric Bell as well asa Specialist Adult Diaphragm and Specialist Adult Bell. This model isalso supplied with a pediatric diaphragm.
SpecialistTMDiaphragm: The E-Scope is supplied with the Specialist AdultDiaphragm. Machined from high-grade stainless steel and fitted with aplastic non-chill ring for patient comfort, the Specialist AdultDiaphragm has a sound sensitivity more than 40% greater than a stampedmetal or plastic diaphragm while reducing outside ambient noise.
