The Vismach 3D digitizer is a non-contact 3D digitizing (scanning) solution designed for the orthotics industry. It is capable of acquiring the foot sole (plantar surface) in true 3D non-weight bearing (in subtalar neutral position or other transitional positions) within a fraction of a second and with high accuracy. If you are tired of plaster casting and ready to move to digital casting, the Vismach 3D digitizer is an effective and very affordable solution. 2. All-in-one unit capable of digitizing plaster casts, foam impressions, and casting socks to help you digitally archive existing physical casts. 3. The Vismach 3D digitizer employs active triangulation by fringe pattern projection. 3D digitizing by active projection is a mature technology. It is widely used in 3D face, foot, body digitizing as well as industrial applications-parts scanning for reverse engineering etc. A number of highly respected companies around the world offer 3D digitizing solutions based on structured light projection. 4. Compared with traditional laser scan, the Vismach 3D digitizer uses white light projection, which is safer and does not require either orthotics practitioners or their customers to wear protective goggle. 5. Vismach 3D acquisition takes merely 0.1 second (0.5 second with texture), compared with a typical acquisition time of 10-20 seconds for laser based products. For laser scanning, any minute movement by the patient or the practitioners hands holding the patients foot will compromise scanning accuracy. To us, laser scanning is a good method to digitize (scan) stationary objects, but perhaps not human. 6. The Vismach 3D digitizer directly captures foot sole (plantar surface) in true 3D with color texture, which will help identify, locate and record problem areas. No special patterned socks are required; Patterns are projected onto foot sole by the system itself. The patient can, if the practitioner prefer, wear light colored socks, such as white or beige. 7. Each Vismach 3D digitizer is tested individually to ensure an accuracy of 0.5 mm (0.02 inch). If you consider the shrinkage associated with plaster casting and casting socks is usually more than 1mm and the additional error incurred when these physical casts are again digitized (scanned) at a orthotics lab, you can be confident that the Vismach 3D digitizer provides more than enough accuracy for orthotics applications. 8. The Vismach 3D digitizer hardware unit is well designed and solidly built from quality components. It is a precision optical measuring system with no moving parts to worn out or maintain. 9. Simple connection through USB cable with your computer. The Vismach 3D digitizer works with Windows 2000(Non-server edition), Windows XP, and Windows Vista (32 bit). Output 3D file format include OBJ, STL, DXF, 3DS, ASC, VRML2.0, NET (Inspeck), VGG (Vismach proprietary).
