To aim at those shortcomings of plaster bandage, much works have been devoted to the research and development on Synthetic or Resin Cast bandages. In succession, the thermo bandage and solidity bandage have been presented. The thermo one is mostly made of Polyester or Polypropylene. However these has to be heated up to around 80 degree centigrade before application. It must be very carefully because the burnt might be incurred by malpractice. Meanwhile according to clinic experiment, the strength of support of such kind of bandage is not good enough. The resins used for coating solidity bandage include AB type resin, vesicate foam resin, UV solidified resin and wet hardening resin etc. Among of them, the newest one is made of glass fiber for main body of bandage and coated (immersed) with wet hardening resin. It will be an important and main substitute of plaster bandage because the following advantages. 1. The bandage is made of glass fiber which possesses light weight, hard, air permeability, water resistance and easy handling. 2. Within 20 to 30 minutes after dressing, it will be fully hardening and enough support is provided. So the patient is able to move soon. 3. It can be cleaned if the surface is getting dirty. 4. 100% X-ray penetrable, it is easily to inspect the situation of wound without opening the bandage.
